As an engaged corporate citizen and industry leader, Ventas has a responsibility to actively engage in improving the lives of others in the communities in which we live, work and operate. Through the Ventas Foundation, we drive philanthropic activities focused around the locations where Ventas employees, customers and partners are based. In 2019, Ventas donated approximately $1.4M in grants and donations benefitting a wide range of nonprofits and causes that are important to our key stakeholders with an emphasis on Health and Human Services, Education and the Environment.

In 2019, Ventas extended its relationship with GCFD as a strategic partner to the Depository’s Older Adult Program. Our commitment, which began in 2015, supports food delivery to 6,500 seniors each month, ensuring they will not go hungry or be forced to make the agonizing choice between medicine and nutrition.

K-8 Public Schools in Philadelphia, PA


K-8 Public Schools in Philadelphia, PA

As part of its community investment in uCity Square in Philadelphia, Ventas is donating approximately $9 million for the construction of a K-8 public school building that will house two schools – the Samuel Powel Elementary School and the Science Leadership Academy Middle School - within the knowledge community campus. Funding for the $40 million project comes from a combination of public/private capital from Ventas, the Lensfest Foundation, Peco, the School District of Philadelphia and federal tax credits.

Employee-Initiated Giving

Ventas employees are encouraged to give back to their communities, and we are proud that so many of our team members are actively involved in a wide variety of local and national organizations.

As part of our support for their efforts, employees can directly nominate nonprofit organizations to receive grants of up to $4,000 per year through our Employee Charitable Fund1. Since the program began, we have given more than $700,000 to employee-nominated organizations, supporting more than 90% of requests. In 2019, we donated more than $70,000 to organizations, including:

Community & Civic Engagement

At Ventas, financial support is only one aspect of our community and civic engagement. We are also proud to directly contribute to the communities in which we live and work by lending our support through the contribution of time and expertise to a wide range of organizations including:
